At the beginning of last year I sat down and wrote a list. This list contained all the things I wanted to achieve in 2016 for my photography business and for myself. Some of the things were very attainable, others more lofty dreams. One of the big, lofty ones was to see my work in print – in a magazine or a book. Over the year I started submitting my work to magazines and can now look back on beautiful spreads in Braut, Hochzeit Magazin & The Little Wedding Corner Magazine. And by pure luck I even got featured twice with my Instagram photos in The Fernweh Magazine.carito-photography-stock-photography-lonely-planet-dublin-3But nothing could beat the sensation when I received news that one of my images made the cover of the travel guide Lonely Planet Dublin. A book that anyone can buy in a bookstore, that you can order on Amazon and that my parents have now standing of their bookshelf. It was unreal and I was going nuts jumping around in my apartment. All this happened through my work for Getty Images and I’m so, so grateful that I can continue to work with such amazing partners. Thank you Getty Images & Lonely Planet Dublin for this wonderful opportunity!carito-photography-stock-photography-lonely-planet-dublin-6 carito-photography-stock-photography-lonely-planet-dublin-10 carito-photography-stock-photography-lonely-planet-dublin-9 carito-photography-stock-photography-lonely-planet-dublin-5And as if getting my work on the cover of a book wasn’t enough, one of my idols – the amazing Sophia Amoruso of & Nastygal – saw my instagram post about my Lonely Planet Dublin and wrote a feature on me, my work and my cover of Lonely Planet Dublin.
