Soniya & Marcel’s German-Nepalese love story is something truly special. They met when Soniya was an au-pair in Germany in 2011 and Marcel was her neighbour. Fast forward 5 years and many kilometres that separated them, they decided to tie the knot. This is what Soniya is looking forward to:
” My parents, brother and grand mom will be joining me all the way from Nepal and I am so looking forward to it. It will be their first time in Germany. Moreover, after counting again, we are having guest from 11 different nations and are overwhelmed to welcome them all. The ritual i.e. all the church thing is new for me and completely different from how my own Hindu tradition would be, so it will be a new experience to me and my family and I am so excited to finally get married in white dress. ”
For their German-Nepalese love story session aka. engagement session we met at Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich. I envisioned something clean, simple and with lots of contrasts. The clean lines and the concrete against their tender love. Soniya’s colourful sari against Marcel’s modern suit.
But despite the many differences it’s their love that unites. A lot that has crossed oceans, mountains and language barriers. A love that will be celebrated with a grand wedding ceremony this November.
