My wonderful wedding couples get married in the most stunning places, but this Mont Blanc Destination Wedding in Hauteluce & on Mont Lachat was something out of this world. Join me for a peek into Sabrina & Hannes’ wedding day in the pretty, pretty French alps.
The wedding day started with a moving, very musical ceremony in the tiny village of Hauteluce. Super charming and with a beautiful old church called St Jacques d’Assyria the village lies nestled on the side of a valley and offers a stunning view over the huge mountains left and right.
Sabrina & Hannes chose this place because they love the mountains and they have strong family ties in the region and spend some weeks there every year. It’s their happy place and what’s better than getting married where you are happiest? Nothing! It was so heartwarming to see them exchange their vows, to look each other in the eyes and know that they will be forever together. They were surrounded by family and friends from all over the world that shared their story and happiness.
Knowing them from their early days as a couple, having shared in their ups & downs as a couple and evenhaving lived together with them for 2 years during our studies, I was laughing and crying with everyone else. Sabrina & Hannes deserve so much to be happy and I’m honoured to have documented this special day!
No Mont Blanc destination wedding would be complete with a photo session in the mountains and that’s exactly what we did. It was Sabrina’s deepest wish that Mont Blanc would be visible in their images and not covered by clouds… and just for our session the clouds lifted just high enough to see her favourite mountain.
If you are thinking about a destination wedding yourself and wonder how to manage everything from faraway, let me give you one advice. It all comes down to professional vendors! Sabrina & Hannes bought most of the transportable things like the dress, accessories and wedding favours at home and mixed them with local vendors for things like entertainment, florals & the restaurant.
Yes, it’s a bit more work… but if it’s your dream to get married somewhere special (and not close by) then simply do it. You will not regret it! Get in touch with me if you would love to hear more about it or if you are looking for a wedding photographer to photograph your Mont Blanc destination wedding (or your destination wedding somewhere else).
We ended the evening with a wonderful dinner at the mountain top restaurant La Belle Metairie at Mont Lachat and celebrated until the wee morning hours together while the thunderstorms were raging outside. Thank you Prest’events for your awesome music – it felt like one of the many student parties we had together and was absolutely perfect!
Super happy that this wedding has been featured on the destination wedding blog Fly Away Bride! Thank you Amy & Lindsay for this lovely feature. And also a big thank you to Renésim, who have a featured an interview with our two lovebirds on their site as well – click here to read about it.
