Multicultural wedding photographer Germany | I couldn’t have imagined a lovelier end to my wedding season 2016 than Soniya & Marcel’s German-Nepali multicultural wedding. My heart simply opens for couples who brave distances, overcome cultural differences and language barriers and end up bringing people from all over the world together to celebrate their love. Soniya & Marcel pulled of a vintage inspired barn wedding with lots of rosé tones, wood and many multicultural influences and I’m so happy to share it with you.
The day started slowly with the getting ready of Marcel & Soniya. I loved the details, the elegance of Soniya’s look and how the black & blue outfit complemented Marcel’s eye color. One of the things I adored the most was how they integrated their engagement pictures into the day. They had printed one of their favourites on little wooden cards and they were the Save the Dates and invitations all in one. If you want to see more of their engagement session, click here for more German-Nepalese love. Surrounded by the people they love the most the morning went by in the blink of an eye and soon is was the moment for the first look. Their reaction to each other was super cute and Marcel couldn’t stop smiling – but totally understandable, right?
Just a couple of meters down the road from their home, they got married in a Christian church ceremony. They did a great job including everyone who didn’t speak German and kept the ceremony short and rather focused on beautiful translations. The results were smiles all over and Soniya wasn’t the only one who shed a tear…
It was a rainy day, but just when we arrived at their party location at Rössle Veinau the downpour stopped for a couples of minutes. We used them for their couple portraits and Soniya & Marcel were such troopers braving the cold and the mud. When we came back all of their friends and family greeted them with a little surprise… one of many to follow!
Soniya & Marcel had invited people from all over the world: family from Nepal & the Philippines, friends from New Zealand and the UK and all of their closest yet super international friends circle in Germany. This funky mix of cultures did not make for interesting conversations and lot of laughter but also for the loveliest surprises – a traditional German Kuchenbuffet including classics like Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte, a super spontaneous traditional Haka from New Zealand to honour the bridal couple as well as a Nepali dance performed by Soniya, her mother-in-law and Nepali & German friends. And on the dance floor people were rocking to German Schlager and showing off their Bollywood moves alike!
And thank you Raj from The Secret Wedding Blog for sharing Soniya & Marcel’s wedding with your readers! It’s such an honor to show my work to all of your readers in the UK and worldwide. <3
